Confirmify WhatsApp COD Verify
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ecom Smartify collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when merchants install and use the Confirmify WhatsApp COD Verify Shopify app.
1. Who We Are
Confirmify WhatsApp COD Verify is provided by Ecom Smartify. The app helps Shopify merchants verify Cash on Delivery orders by sending WhatsApp confirmation messages, recording confirmation outcomes, and applying order tags such as COD-CONFIRMED, COD-CANCELLED, or COD-PENDING.
For privacy questions, deletion requests, or support, contact us at contact@pos.ecomsmartify.com.
2. Scope
This policy applies to data processed through Confirmify, the Shopify app installation flow, app dashboard, WhatsApp COD verification workflows, support communications, and related services.
Shopify merchants remain responsible for their own customer relationships, privacy notices, and lawful use of WhatsApp or other messaging channels for order communications.
3. Information We Collect
Depending on how the app is installed and used, we may process:
- Store information such as store name, myshopify domain, store owner contact details, plan status, and app settings.
- Staff or contributor information made available by Shopify, including store owner name, email address, phone number, and physical address.
- Customer information required to verify COD orders, including customer name and phone number.
- Order information such as order ID, order number, order status, payment method, order history needed for verification, and tags applied by the app.
- Message activity such as WhatsApp send status, confirmation or cancellation result, timestamps, recent message history, credit usage, reminder status, and delivery-status updates.
- Device and activity information such as IP address, browser, operating system, approximate geolocation, log events, and app usage activity.
- Support information you provide when contacting us, including screenshots, messages, email address, and troubleshooting details.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- install, authenticate, and operate the Shopify app;
- send WhatsApp COD confirmation and reminder messages;
- show confirmation history, status, and message credits;
- update Shopify orders with confirmation-related tags;
- provide support, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse;
- maintain app security, logs, billing, and service reliability;
- comply with legal, platform, and Shopify app requirements.
5. Shopify and WhatsApp Data
Confirmify uses Shopify APIs only for app functionality requested by the merchant, including COD order verification, message tracking, and order tagging. We do not use Shopify customer or order data for unrelated advertising.
WhatsApp messages may be sent through WhatsApp Business, merchant-connected WhatsApp Cloud API credentials, or related messaging infrastructure. Merchants are responsible for ensuring they have the required customer consent or lawful basis to send WhatsApp order messages.
6. Sharing Information
We may share information with service providers that help us run the app, including hosting, database, analytics, logging, customer support, Shopify, WhatsApp/Meta messaging services, and payment or billing providers where applicable.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and security, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
7. Data Retention
We retain app data only as long as needed to provide the service, support merchants, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or Shopify platform requirements.
Message history and verification logs may be retained for a limited period so merchants can review recent confirmations and troubleshoot COD verification outcomes.
8. Uninstalling the App and Deletion
When a merchant uninstalls Confirmify, app access to the Shopify store is revoked. We may retain limited records where necessary for billing, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity.
Merchants can request deletion of stored app data by emailing contact@pos.ecomsmartify.com. We will respond within a reasonable period after verifying the request.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect app data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and merchants should also protect their Shopify and WhatsApp credentials.
10. International Processing
Information may be processed in countries where Ecom Smartify, Shopify, WhatsApp/Meta, and our service providers operate. By using the app, merchants acknowledge that data may be transferred and processed outside their country of residence.
11. Your Rights
Depending on location, merchants, staff, and customers may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. End customers should usually contact the Shopify merchant first because the merchant controls the customer relationship and order records.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
